Nutritional Energetic Assessment: Part 2

NEA Basics:  First of all, what is the basis for NEA?

The first and foundational basis for NEA is the bio-magnetic system of the human body.

How does the body generate it's bio-magnetic system?

The body has ferrous (iron) ions (Fe 3+) being pumped in a circuit through the cardiovascular system, the arteries, veins, and capillaries, with the heart being the main pump.  Ions (positive or negative charged) moving through a circuit is known as an electrical current, which induces a magnetic field.  The flow of ferric ions through the circulatory system is one source of the bio-magnetic field generated by the body.

Likewise, sodium ions (Na +) moving through a nerve cell (circuit) also produce an electrical current which again induces a magnetic field.  This is another source of the bio-magnetic field of the human body.  There are more proposed sources of the bio-magnetic system of the body, but scientific evidence is still pending in validating them.

Bio-magnetic fields are now an established science. There are sophisticated bio-magnet screening medical devices in use today.  One example is the magnetocardiogram.

"Magnetocardiography (MCG) is a technique to measure the magnetic fields produced by electrical activity in the heart using extremely sensitive devices such as the Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUIDs). If the magnetic field is measured using a multichannel device, a map of the magnetic field is obtained over the chest; from such a map, using mathematical algorithms that take into account the conductivity structure of the torso, it is possible to locate the source of the activity. For example, sources of abnormal rhythms or arrhythmia, may be located using MCG." Magnetocardiography. (2011, January 13). In Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia. The second basis of NEA testing is the Earth's magnetic field.

It is postulated that the Earth's magnetic field is generated by the flow of super heated iron ions circulating around the solid iron core of the Earth.

It is believed that the Earth's magnetic field extends tens of thousands of kilometers into space and shields the earth from solar winds, cosmic radiation and dust

In order to conduct accurate NEA testing the participant's body must be in polar alignment with the Earth's magnetic field.

In the upcoming blog I will cover the rules for conducting an accurate NEA session.
